The Queensland Vasey Housing Auxiliary (War Widows' Guild) was established in 1961 to provide suitable accommodation at an affordable price for war widows over 55 years of age and other eligible persons. Today the Auxiliary manages six blocks of units (five in and around Brisbane), one in the Redcliffe area, as well as two holiday units at Caloundra on the North Coast.
All units are conveniently situated near medical, shopping and transport facilities. The units are one bed roomed and are for independent living only. All repairs and maintenance is carried out by the Qld Vasey Housing Auxiliary.
Entry covers women 55 years and over who are :-
· War widows
· Daughters of war widows and other close female relatives
· Widows of ex-servicemen whose death is not accepted as due to war service
· Former ex-servicewomen or nurses who served in the forces

Holiday Units

There are 2 holiday units available for rent in the modern "Centrepoint" apartment block in Caloundra which are exclusively for Guild Members and their families/friends to enjoy. The units are fully equiped and furnished with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (4 people). They are close to the Transit Centre, beach and shopping centre. Families are welcome but should be accompanied by a War Widow. Very reasonable rates apply.
